ASISA Borges Vall and Museo de la Almendra Francisco Morales Triumph in King's Cup and Queen's Cup Iberdrola Spanish Championships in Jaén

The table tennis world witnessed the crowning of two champions in Jaén this weekend, with ASISA Borges Vall securing their fourth King's Cup title, exactly ten years after their first, and Museo de la Almendra Francisco Morales winning their first-ever Queen's Cup Iberdrola. Both finals took place at the Olivo Arena Sports Palace in Jaén, showcasing an exceptional level of talent and competition from all participating teams.
ASISA Borges Vall achieved victory in a nail-biting final against Real Cajasur Priego TM with a 3-2 scoreline. The intense match saw Marc Durán and Diogo Carvalho face off in the opening game, with Carvalho taking a decisive 3-0 win. Viktor Brodd quickly evened the score for the Catalan team by defeating Diogo Chen 3-1. The turning point came in the third match, where Alberto Lillo's convincing 3-0 victory over Carlos Machado brought ASISA Borges Vall within one win of the title. Diogo Carvalho kept Real Cajasur Priego TM's hopes alive by winning the fourth game against Viktor Brodd 3-1. Ultimately, Marc Durán emerged victorious in a tense and closely fought final match against Diogo Chen, winning 3-2 and securing the King's Cup title for ASISA Borges Vall. Visit Pontevedra and Irún Leka Enea completed the podium, both receiving bronze medals after losing in the semifinals against ASISA Borges Vall and Real Cajasur Priego TM, respectively.
In the Queen's Cup Iberdrola final, Museo de la Almendra Francisco Morales faced Hujase Jaén Paraíso Interior. The Priego de Córdoba team started on the back foot, with Tatiana Garnova losing the first match to Natalya Prosvirnina 2-3. However, the team rallied, and Marija Galonja's impressive 3-1 victory over AnnaMaria Erdelyi in the second game put them back on track. Inspired by Galonja's win, Caroline Kumahara dominated her match against Alejandra Alejo, winning 3-0 and giving Museo de la Almendra Francisco Morales a 2-1 lead in the final. Tatiana Garnova redeemed herself in the fourth match by defeating AnnaMaria Erdelyi 3-2, clinching the Queen's Cup Iberdrola title for her team. Son Cladera TTC and UCAM Cartagena TM earned the bronze medals as semifinalists, completing the podium for the tournament.
