UCAM Cartagena TM secure a 19th Copa de la Reina Iberdrola title

UCAM Cartagena TM will take the Copa de la Reina Iberdrola back home after winning their 19th cup trophy, edging Miró Ganxets Costa Daurada 3–2 in a final defined by tight margins and constant momentum shifts.

Li Fen delivered the opening point, defeating Guo Ruichen 3–1 (13–11, 7–11, 11–6, 11–6) to put Cartagena ahead. Qi Fei extended the lead with a 3–1 win over Anastasiia Kolish (9–11, 11–9, 11–6, 11–2). Miró Ganxets responded through Natalya Prosvirnina, who overcame Ángela Rodríguez 1–3 (11–13, 11–13, 11–8, 5–11) to keep the tie alive. Guo Ruichen then levelled the final by defeating Qi Fei 2–3 (11–5, 14–12, 7–11, 10–12, 9–11). In the deciding match, Li Fen sealed the trophy with a straight-games victory over Kolish 3–0 (13–11, 11–9, 11–8), scoring two key points for Cartagena in the final overall result.

On the route to the title, UCAM Cartagena TM produced a convincing semifinal performance to beat Girbau Vic TT 3–0, while Miró Ganxets Costa Daurada reached the final after a 3–1 win over UBU RM Terán Burgos 2031. Girbau Vic TT and UBU RM Terán Burgos 2031 completed the podium positions for this edition.

CTT Olot – Capdevila Permar win first Copa del Rey in club history

In the men’s competition, CTT Olot – Capdevila Permar were crowned Copa del Rey champions for the first time, defeating Leka Enea Irún 3–1 in the final.

The tie began with an early surprise as Daniel Palacios beat Damien Roland Provost 0–3 (9–11, 8–11, 9–11), giving Leka Enea Irún the lead. Olot answered immediately: Rafael De Las Heras levelled the match by defeating Jon Ander Guerricabeitia 3–1 (8–11, 11–8, 11–3, 11–9). The decisive turning point came when Miguel Ángel Pantoja edged Endika Diez 3–2 (11–6, 11–7, 4–11, 9–11, 12–10), putting Olot within one win of the trophy. Provost then closed the final with a 3–1 victory over Guerricabeitia (7–11, 11–6, 11–9, 18–16) to confirm the championship.

Earlier in the knockout phase, the quarterfinals saw Real Club Priego Fundación Kutxabank defeat Visit Pontevedra 3–2, CTT Olot – Capdevila Permar eliminate Enoli Les Borges Vall 3–0, Leka Enea Irún overcome Alicante Tenis de Mesa 3–2, and Arteal TM beat CTT L’Hospitalet 3–0. In the semifinals, Olot defeated Real Club Priego Fundación Kutxabank 3–1, while Leka Enea Irún reached the final with a narrow 3–2 win over Arteal TM.

Closing ceremony and broadcast coverage

The weekend concluded with the podium ceremonies and official presentations in Tarragona. The awards ceremony included Óscar Sánchez, Deputy Delegate for Social and Cultural Promotion; Mario Soler, Sports Councillor of the Tarragona City Council; Miguel Ángel Machado, President of the RFETM; and Daniel Valero Tuinenburg, RFETM Events Director, who presided over the closing act and the presentation of awards to the finalist teams.
